MMR: No publicity is bad publicity...

Just like sex, controversy sells and most times the two are intertwined. The very sexy Amber Rose was scheduled to host this weekends big event but after a series of controversial events, the famous ex-girlfriend of rap star Kanye West would not be appearing in Africa this weekend.

Regardless of the nude photos and tweets-of-denial, the Music Meets Runway team have somehow managed to turn around what would be otherwise termed as 'bad publicity' to their very best advantage. Thus showing truly that there's no publicity that can be classified as 'bad publicity'. It all depends on what you do with the attention gained from the 'hype' whether it was positive or negative. Not only did they get the nude posing Amber Rose to delete her initial Tweets denying that she was aware of her being in Nigeria this weekend, they also got her to call in on the top Lagos morning radio show on the Beat 99.9 fm with Olisa and Oreka barely 48 hours after a second batch of denial Tweets re-surfaced on the Celebrity's Twitter timeline. Talk about good PR. Anchoring the show has now been left in the capable hands of Banky W. who is arguably one of the best dressed men in Nigeria today.

According to www.musicmeetsrunway.com:
"Music Meets Runway is an annual fashion and music show event, which features fashions by the new era of fashion being presented by live performances by popular music acts, including international artists.Over the years, Fashion and Music has created a style storm around the globe. The innovation, ‘Music Meets Runway’ is intended to provide a platform for talented designers, especially those who normally are excluded from the highly competitive world of fashion to showcase their unique art works WHILE talented music artists perform on stage."

Two industries in Nigeria that have certainly reached a level where they can compete internationally have joined forces aiming to further announce their presence on the world fashion and music maps respectively.

You have no reason not to be there else you would only be told about it. However, It won't be the same.
